The focus of today was to film and finalise our video for
our assignment.
We combined all our research in one document and spent the
first few minutes sorting through which pieces on information we would use, and
which we would disregard. By discussing the information we had before placing
it all into the video, it ensured that the amount of information was not too hefty,
but was still relative to our core message.
We then used the information we kept to construct more
specific and detailed scenes. Since we already had a very detailed storyboard,
it was extremely easy to slot our ideas into empty spots and take out any expendable
scenes in only a small amount of time. This meant we had sufficient time to
work on the more time consuming aspects of filming and editing.
Once again, thanks to our detailed storyboard, filming
scenes were quick and easy to do. The most time we spent was on editing. We all
contributed in ensuring that the right information and scenes were in the right
spots. Due to my previous experience with iMovie, I was happy to take control
of the editing process, yet still ensured that my group members had input by
constantly checking and discussing scenes with them to ensure everyone was
content. Unfortunately it became obvious that we had to remove some scenes to accommodate
for the time constraints placed on the video, but after a discussion with the
group, we agreed on which information to move and replace. By the end of the
afternoon, our video was finished and ready to go.
Through meticulous planning and constant revision of
information, our group was able to successfully finish our video in a short
amount of time and to a quality that perfectly appealed to our level of
expectations.
